Kalispell Dance photography – Noble Dance {Be the Swan}

Kalispell Montana Dance and Ballet Photographer, Wayne Murphy, JMK PhotographyKalispell Dance Photography gets a new twist and a couple of cowgirls at Gentry River Ranch in Columbia Falls!

The Noble Dance Summer enrollment ad campaign was themed “Be the Swan”.  The whole idea was to not follow the crowd, to stand out and do something different without being afraid… to be the swan.  In collaboration with Natalie Molter we decided to throw what we thought was acceptable ballet photography out the window and just take off in any direction we felt like going with this project.  Why not start with dancers and cowgirls?  The folks at Gentry River Ranch were kind enough to let us have run of their beautiful river front property in Columbia Falls for a couple of hours to work out our cowgirl photos with dancers Kylea Ray and Libby Sullivan in their cowgirl best then we headed downtown Kalispell for the solo shots of Abby and the volley girl photos.

Every time, all the time I love working with these talented dancers.

The Noble Dance School dancers were: Abby Cockrell (University of North Carolina School of the Arts), Kylea Ray and Libby Sullivan

Alpine Adornment Jewelry

Mara Haggar of Alpine Adornment Jewelry in East Glacier Park, Montana is making some of the coolest jewelry I have seen.  Ive been hanging around East Glacier for 16 years now and just got to know Mara last summer through a mutual friend when she introduced me to her jewelry.  The Demure Voyagers Artistic Impression Event at Soucie Soucie was only a few months away and I could see a strong connection with the “style” of Soucie Soucie and Mara’s jewelry.  I suggested that Mara contact Soucie and arrange a meeting to show her jewelry off to the ladies and it was a done deal.  Mara had her jewelry on a few of the models for the evening a developed a great relationship with a local model, Tara Polack who is one of the featured models in this photo shoot we did for Mara.  The second featured model is Emilee Joy Croteau another local Kalispell model.  Clothing was provided by Machallie Gs of Kalispell.  Be sure to check out Alpine Adornment on the web all of the jewelry is available for purchase.  http://www.alpineadornment.com

Demure Voyagers: An Artistic Impression Event at Soucie Soucie

Soucie Soucie Salon hosted their annual show. Everyone was invited to watch the magic happen as their stylists put the finishing touches on their models who participated in a live photo shoot through out the evening.  their theme, Demure Voyagers was based loosely on a fashion-genre called Steampunk. Their stylists used their creativity and talent to show their interpretation of these Victorian time travelers.  We couldnt have been more thrilled to be one of the participating photographers!
